Hidey Hole

Nothing like hanging out in your closet with three kiddos waiting on the tornados to pass ... Lovely.

Mornings

I am totally a morning person. I love waking up to sunshine (or these days waiting on the sunshine at 5:30) making my coffee, reading my bible, doodling notes, and just getting ready for the day. I love waiting on each little one to wake up and getting to love on their sleepy head. They just seem sweeter in the mornings. I'm even sweeter in the morning. I pretty much need a sign on my forehead that says "visiting hours are over at 10pm." I'm just kinda done with people by then. No offense, people. :)

I just love watching them roll around the living room being silly, watching Little Bear and drinking juice in their jammies.
I snapped this picture and it seriously makes me cry! I'm very visual, I really think I have a photographic memory. Thats how I would study for tests in high school (notice I didn't say college, because I didn't do much studying in college).
I would work on just taking mental photos of my notes and pages in textbooks. When the test came around I would literally search my brain for the place in my notes for the answer. I also can pretty much tell you what myself and anyone I was with was wearing at any given event, holiday, playdate over the last 10 years ... Weird. Weird.
But, when I think of my kiddos, this is the mental snapshot that comes to mind. Not wearing smocked lovelies and Sunday best ... But, them rolling around my living room watching cartoons and having bedhead. I think when they're older, this is one of the things I'll miss the most ...

Unforgettables

I am so frustrated because I wrote these out last night on my phone and right as I hit "Publish Post" my phone died, deleting my whole post ... Arg.

This will be kinda short and sweet because I'm sleepy and just emotionally exhausted from crying at the Beth Moore event all weekend. That deserves it's own post, so I'll save it for later.
But here are some Friday Funnies ... They're mainly Avery this week.

Here we go:
Me: Avery, what are you doing?
A: Picking flowers for my wedding.
Me: Ohhh, well who are you marrying?
A: Someone really handsome. With straight hair like me.

This one isnt that funny, but needed to be documented ...
My kids have very a polarized relationship. Sometimes they just love each other to death, and others they're at war. They fight and compete daily about the silliest things. Like, sitting in the 3rd row in Avery's carseat. They fight over who gets to every. single. day. Anyway, the other day we were headed to MDO and D got in first so he darted to the flowery pink carseat screaming, "I'm getting in the back!!!!!!!l" Avery squealed, picked up Dalton's fav toy off of my littered flooreboard and yelled back, "Fine! I'm holding Manny!!" I threw Avery an annoyed look and asked, "Avery, why would you say that to him." She replied, "To make his feewlings (feelings) hurt."
Ummmm ... She gets it. Wow.

This one may need an introduction- remember a couple weeks ago when I showed this picture of A and her sign that said "No boys allowed, especially Dalton!"

Well, after a particularly hard day this week I finally escaped to my room to lay down and just rest for a sec. Avery followed me in my room and I said, "Avery, hold up. I need a few minutes by myself- no kids allowed."
She nodded knowingly and asked, "Do you need me to make a sign for your door?"
I'm still laughing about it.

A couple days ago we had just picked up Avery who had spent the night with my mom and she was climbing in the car. She kept trying to hug and kiss Dalton and finally he let out a big sigh, "Avery, I don't need your kisses right now. I just need you to get buckled."

I'm also laughing at how they call McDonald's "Old MacDonald's."

Here's a couple pics of Sawyer since he isn't doing anything silly yet. But he is scooching ALL over the house, eating ritz crackers, drinking juice out of a sippy cup, and I swear he waves bye bye! I l.o.v.e that baby!!!

Okay, more soon!
Happy Saturday!

PlayDay

Today we went to a park with some friends. It was spur of the moment thing, which is always my fav. :)
Sawyer loved rolling around in the sunshine, under a big shade tree.

The child spent an hour trying to eat one of those popcorn balls. He had two new toofies come in this week, so maybe it felt good. ;)

Quite possibly one of my fav pics of him to date. Oh, I just love him to death.

While Sawyer and I were lounging on the blanket my two girlfriends took Dalton and Avery with their boys, down to a culvert/creek thing to throw rocks in. A few minutes later Stacy came up the hill to say, "Theoretically, if Dalton fell in, would you have more clothes for him?" Which really meant, "your kid is now naked wading in the water." Which then meant ... photo opp. Duh.

Oh my. I laughed and laughed and laughed. And yes, I'm totally aware that it's indecent, kinda weird and possibly illegal. But, they all wore themselves out, went straight to sleep, which means I get a nap too. :)

Zzzzzzzzzz......

Unforgettables

Another week at home for the Boonie Babies ... but we're surviving. :)

br />

This week we had lots of fussing from a certain blue eyed, blonde-haired boy whose name rhymes with Dalton. He's just uncomfortable, sick, and not so happy. We're missing our friends, quiet time, and for sure Mothers Day Out!

However, we had some moments I don't want to forget too... Here goes it:

Last Friday night my mom took D home and Aaron was umping. Avery wanted to have a picnic and I loved an excuse not to cook, so I made us PBJ's and we were going to picnic in the living room and watch a movie ... While I was packing up our "basket" I came in to discover she had set up the umbrella and she and Sawyer were laying under it. Made me laugh!

Dalton has started saying whenever someone wakes up in the morning or after naps, "Good Morning!" in the most precious, innocent, high-pitched voice you've ever heard. It's presh.

Saturday afternoon was beautiful and we were laying outside. I looked over and Avery was saying, "He loves me, he loves me not" plucking petals off flowers.

One day this week Dalton had barely been up 30 minutes and said, "Momma, can I have a jar of peanut butter and a spoon?" I told him no, and laughed. Then he said, "Okay, can I have some in a bowl with a spoon?" I still need to ask Aaron if he lets them do this? Where did that come from!

On a particularly b-a-d day this week (Tuesday) I was seriously feeling like it was THE end of the world. No, really. Like I was the old woman in the shoe, and I truly didn't know what to do with all these sick kids! I mean .... wow. Anyway, after crying at the kitchen table I asked Avery if she'd say her bible verse from a few weeks ago for me (Psalm 121-1-2). I thought maybe hearing her say it would help it sink in a little better. So she started, "I lift my eyes up to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker (then she started stumbling and looking around) the maker, the maker ... The maker of South America." I busted out laughing, told her she and Miss South Carolina would probably get along great, and definitely felt better. Love. That. Girl.

I love that when Dalton is huffy he sits down crosses his arms and softly pats himself ... like drumb his little hands on his arms. Obviously he's being frustrated and angry. But it's way cute.

Sawyer has been eating better now that I'm "making" (ahem, mashing up steamed veggies/fruit!) He loves it! Here he is having some bananas this morning. He's the sweetest things and can hardly even eat because he's so happy and keeps laughing. Mmmm, I love that boy.

I love that he's trying to reach around the camera to see me since it's hiding my face. He thinks we're playing peek-a-boo.

He's looking for his next bite that I'm stirring in his bowl.

I think it's so funny that when A and D play hide and seek outside they pretend like they don't see each other and continue the game like an adult would do when a child is in an obvious spot. "Hmmm ... where's Avery ... I just don't know!" :)

Avery was watching Super Why yesterday and I think it said something about jumping into the TV, and she said ... to the TV, "Oh no, we cannot jump into the TV; Our daddy will miss us if we jump into the TV."

I think several people in my family would compare me to the Princess and Pea. I am obsessed with comfy beds. I love super soft sheets, my fabulous mattress we splurged on last year and tons of pillows ... mmmm. Last night I kept rolling over and finding where Dalton had hidden several small animal toys under my feather bed thing ... Not happy. But everytimes I fished out another wooly mammoth, white tailed deer, or kangaroo I laughed. Even at 3am.

Yesterday, my mom came to help with the bambinos. She took A to Target to get some happies. She came back armed with dry erase boards, movies, several toys, and all the fixin's to make cupcakes with. We made the cupcakes this morning and of course the kiddos love cooking/baking anything!!

Maybe next week we'll get to blow this joint for some more fun moments!

Hope you have an Unforgettable Friday! :)

Typical

So, I had to nix making my own baby food. I thought I didn't have time, so I've been giving him just Gerber baby good ... The organic kind- so that gives me like a B+ right?!?
Well, the child has hatedddd every thing I've given him. Like could not get him to eat a veggie. Until last night. I gave him some mashed potatoes.

Of course he does. It's like the one vegetable with 0 nutritional value. He ate it again tonight. Loved it again. I think tomorrow I'll try iceberg lettuce.
