Avery's First Sleepover

Avery hit a milestone last night ... Her first overnight guest! Naomi came yesterday afternoon and was just delightful as they played, played, and played. I know they were bummed to not get to go outside, but it was just FREEZING yesterday (Seriously, it was 32 degrees and snowing). But they made the most of an inside day! They spent more than enough time dressing and redressing Barbie on the ipad, watching The Disney Channel and snacking it up with popcorn and Hot Chocolate- All girls favorite things.
The first time Naomi came to play I went downstairs to check on them and found them sitting side-by-side in A and D's little PB chairs that were pushed together with the ipad resting in between, blaring Taylor Swift. They each had their legs crossed and were looking at children's clothing magazines, pausing to show each other things and then replying, "Oh, that's cute!" I'm not exaggerating at all. That's when I knew they'd be life long friends. ;)
Through all the madness I didn't catch a lot of pics, but here is a peak into Avery and Naomi's big night.

I'm SO glad they have each other!!

Dashing Through the Snow

We've had a few more fun Holi-DAYS that I want to share. We had so much fun at our monthly playgroup Christmas party where the kiddos got to eat snacks, sing songs, hear stories, do crafts and play play play.
So much fun!

We also got to see Santa ... it did NOT go well!

Then we got to visit our precious cousins in Paragould. Avery and Dalton are OBSESSED with Aaron's sister, Ashley, kiddos: Olivia, Jayke, Ryley, and Katie Jo.
We took a spur-of-the-moment trip up there and had the best time. It was hands down our best time with them- everyone was playing so well and it was just FUN!!
Avery played with the big kids and Dalton and Sawyer played well with Katie. I don't think we got on to anyone or had to break up any fights, it was like they were all at the age where they just PLAYED! Ahhh ... So nice!!

PlayDay

Today we went to a park with some friends. It was spur of the moment thing, which is always my fav. :)
Sawyer loved rolling around in the sunshine, under a big shade tree.

The child spent an hour trying to eat one of those popcorn balls. He had two new toofies come in this week, so maybe it felt good. ;)

Quite possibly one of my fav pics of him to date. Oh, I just love him to death.

While Sawyer and I were lounging on the blanket my two girlfriends took Dalton and Avery with their boys, down to a culvert/creek thing to throw rocks in. A few minutes later Stacy came up the hill to say, "Theoretically, if Dalton fell in, would you have more clothes for him?" Which really meant, "your kid is now naked wading in the water." Which then meant ... photo opp. Duh.

Oh my. I laughed and laughed and laughed. And yes, I'm totally aware that it's indecent, kinda weird and possibly illegal. But, they all wore themselves out, went straight to sleep, which means I get a nap too. :)

Zzzzzzzzzz......

A Walk on the Wild Side ...

Today our little playgroup took a walk on the wild side, to the Little Rock Zoo. I can't even think of the last time I've been to the zoo, and the wee ones have never been so I was really excited. Aaron was disappointed to not be there for there first trip to the zoo, but I know we'll be back soon because it was such a fun day! It was pretty cloudy so it wasn't too hot and overall a perfect day for the zoo. (Besides the fact that it was PACKED with school field trips ... :(
Here are some pics!

And to top it all off, Avery got some lovin' from Noah!

Today's exerpt from "The Power of a Praying Parent," is the number one thing I pray over my kids every day. That my kids will see Jesus in me, and that I will be the exactly the Mommy that they need, to be the followers Jesus wants them to be.

Becoming a Praying Parent

Lord, may the beauty of Your Spirit be so evident in me that I will be a godly role model

for my child. Give me the communication, teaching, and nurturing skills that I must

have. Grow me into being the kind of parent You want me to be and teach me how to

pray and truly intercede for his (her) life. You said in Your Word, "Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:22)

In Jesus' name I ask that You will increase my faith to believe for all the things You have put on my heart to pray for concerning this child.

"Whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father

may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it."

John 14:13-14

Well, we have definitely had a big day around here and I think it's going to rain all night, which will make staying home tonight even better. It's Tuesday which means, AMERICAN IDOL!! Woo Hoo! I can't wait to see what they all sing tonight, it might be the week where they start singing two songs! Cool Beans. I will definitely be voting as fast as my fingers can type for Kris Allen! And since Aaron's fav, Matt G, got voted off last week I'm hoping to pull him over to join voting force.

What's for Dinner???????

Well, let me tell you: Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs, French Bread, and Caesar Salad. It's one of my favorites for some reason. Aaron's dad makes everything from scratch in a yummy, family recipe, but I'm going to definitely rely on some products from our new grocery store, thanks Harps. ;)

I pretty much love any kind of pasta, but on a rainy, yucky night like tonight, Spaghetti and Meatballs sounds great. I better go get started.

Love, Rebekah
